As a composer, conductor, accompanist, teacher, and music director, Craig Garnham enjoys a multifaceted career in music. He received both his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Classical Music and Master of Arts Degree in Choral Conducting from York University. He also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Church Music and Worship from the University of Waterloo.
Craig currently holds three positions as a church musician. He is the Director of Music at St. James Presbyterian Church in Stouffville, and Choir Director & Organist at St. John Chrysostom Parish in Newmarket, and Organist at Prince of Peace Parish in Scarborough.
In addition to his multi-denominational church appointments, Craig and currently the Accompanist and Assistant Conductor of County Town Singers, Oshawa, and Accompanist for the Evergreen Choir, Aurora. As well, enjoys teaching piano and inspiring the next generation of young minds towards musical excellence.
As a classically trained musician, his talents bring him to explore many genres of music. Whether it is performing pop classics during cocktail hour, learning new repertoire of classical music for weddings, or rocking out on stage, Craig never shy’s away from a musical opportunity.
Craig also creates and produces a variety of styles of music. To date, he has recorded and released 2 full length albums; an album of classical style improvisations “Musings”, and an album of electronic music “Midnight Drive”, available on all streaming platforms. Most recently, he conducted, recorded, and produced a virtual performance of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater for Good Friday 2021.
Craig has performed throughout the GTA as well as internationally at events such as the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, as well as at Carnegie Hall in May 2019.
